Hi all, I have a toddler that's had some throat issues when smaller and I think through memory he's scared to eat. Need help with recipes as he will only eat soft foods and tomato based. He will eat pasta, rice, egg, tuna, salmon, chicken. Any ideas? Thx

Can you try to slowly incorporate textures in with what he does eat? Does he chew well? Example would be pasta with chicken and broccoli. Chicken enchilada, either cut into pieces or "deconstructed" so he sees filling and the tortilla. Use mild red sauce. Have him get involved with the prep of the meal, too, if you can... he should become open to trying new things if he sees it from start to finish. While doing so, offer for him to try each component. Obviously, unless it's actually unsafe to do so.

Hey, my little girl had similar issues when she was younger. Chicken salads made with rotisserie chicken, mayo and veggies (cabbage, carrots shredded, lettuce, etc) helped a lot. As she grew older, we realized it was actually mild allergies to tree nuts (not peanuts) and some seeds (sesame). The allergies still persist and cause excessive mouth watering and an instant nausea. Not saying that your toddler is allergic, but might be worthwhile tracking down the ingredients that feel worse than others. Good Luck!

Its a natural phenomena children dislike bitter foods because of evolution...bitter foods are more likely to be poisonous...and small childeen are more susceptable to toxins... Greek Yogurt is sweet has lots of protein give that a try Add some berries and fruit for vitamins Could purre some stuff into spaghetti sauce... Tiny bits of liver Carrots Could add plain greek yogurt to that to boost protein How do they do on eggs? My mom used to make me an egg smoothy/eggnog type thing every morning for breakfast...it may be because i watched Rocky and demanded it...

Try some ice cream tip tops and some soup or a potato mashed up

How about introducing "baby trees" (broccoli) to add a fun veg? Has always been a safe veg for my fussy eater. When I'm in a rush I sometimes cook pasta, chicken or sausage and broccoli then throw them all together in an oven proof dish, chuck a tin of chicken soup over, sprinkle with cheese and grill

I liked the comment about my mixing veggies in things making sure their small. I had a problem when I was younger, my mom had to cut a lot of stuff into tiny pieces. My problem was I've always been allergic to grass, some foods make me hack up more when eating. Also when I was a kid I ate too fast. She had to teach me to slow down. At 43 I still have the same issues 😂. I just don't have to cut up anything tiny unless my face is hurting so bad that I don't feel like chewing as much.
