Whipped cream from real chocolate

I want to make a chocolate-flavored whipped cream using real chocolate (not cocoa powder or chocolate syrup). What’s the best way to incorporate melted chocolate while keeping the whipped cream stable and smooth? Any tips on technique or ingredient ratios?

What works for me is 12 oz of Heavy Cream and 12 oz of Chocolate. Warm cream for 90 seconds in the microwave. Don't let it boil. Add the chocolate to a bowl and pour the cream over it and stir until cool. Refrigerate it until it is a thick frosting. It should be enough for like 12 standard cupcakes.
