So more along the line of pastries. WARNING pastries are high fat, usually high butter, which is one of the most expensive foods. Also, the filling is usually a jam, another high-cost food. However, 50 to 100% of the butter in a pastry recipe can be replaced by coconut oil, which is lower cost if purchased from Costco. Otherwise, forget trying to replace the butter. Check out my list of recipes I've tried for an excellent crescent dough that also doubles as a puff pastry base, though it doesn't say so in the recipe. After that, go ahead and make it yours. Bear claws, fruit tarts, fruit doughnuts, almond cream, whatever. You can cut it into squares, sprinkle with cinnamon, and air fry them. Then dip them in fruit sauce or yogurt or even icing if you want! GO YOU! Oh, yeah, dainish desert is awesome, stuffed or dipped.
