What makes this creamy? Could I not blend and instead add a cup of coconut milk? The recipe also says to add, "paper", what should this be?

I believe pepper was meant instead of paper. The creaminess would come from blending the soup. If you have a Vitamix you could make and cook the soup in it and it would have a great creamy texture then just pour over some thawed frozen broccoli.

For sure they mean pepper. Take out SOME and blend or add some white beans for protein and blend, makes it very smooth and creamy!!
