Hey, I am can you share some tips on making desserts suitable for the Medeterenian diet?

Hi Susan. You can improve your dessert recipes by: 1. Reducing the amount of sugar by 25 to 50%, depending on your taste. 2. Using honey or maple syrup instead of sugar 3. Use whole wheat flour instead of regular white flour. 4. Use olive oil instead of butter 5. Use apple sauce instead of oil 6. Choose desserts that include fruit Be aware that these substitutions can significantly alter the texture of your baked goods, so make sure you either find a proven recipe that includes these ingredients, or find a website that gives you ingredient swap guidelines.

Susan, olive oil will affect the taste a bit, but not in a bad way... It all depends how much is used in the recipe. Preferably use a mild tasting one (some brands label their different oils as "robust", "mild" etc...).

Okay so we have to start this because of a family members condition. Do you have any recommendations for dishes that have chicken wings? I'm a huge fan of them, and want to make something for my whole family to enjoy.

Thanks, Veronique! I have never used olive oil in desserts, does it affects the taste?

Elliott, chicken wings are the fattiest part of the chicken and therefore should be consumed rarely. Baked or grilled is best, with any herbs or spices you like. Avoid barbecue sauce as it is very high in sugar. If you need to limit sodium, avoid any sauces with high sodium content.
