Hey, you are right. Keto and low-carb recipes usually have a low amount of carbs and high energy levels.
This is coming from higher fats amount in recipes and carbs give 4kcal of energy/ g and fats give 9kcal/ g so this is why recipe energy is high.
You can make recipes low carb and low-calorie at once but at the end of the day, you need to eat a high amount of fats to be able to stick to Keto or low-carb diet.
Keep in mind that high fats in recipes do give higher kcal but also will keep you full longer so you will probably eat less high-energy meals.
If you want to have a low-calorie low-carb recipe you can prepare meat and green vegies without added fats. You can also avoid nuts, cream, and fatty cheeses in recipes.
