How do you cook on a campfire with cast iron?

Sometimes the campsite has grates on the fire pits, but if not, I put the cast iron straight on a low fire or coals. My go to is sweet potatoes with ghee and chopped red onion

You can also use a campfire tripod to hang pots or a grate over your fire!
