Do you use greek yogurt in smoothies?

When I used greek yogurt, I added it for texture... but it made the smoothie sooo tart. is it possible to use greek yogurt and not have the tartness? did I just use the wrong ratio?

I use Greek yogurt in smoothies, it's not usually tart though. I would think you might have used to much, I would suggest starting off with 1/4 of a cup and then adding more as you go along. I use about 1/2 of a cup in my smoothies and i can hardly taste it. Maybe your Greek yogurt is more tart? I would just add more yogurt as you blend 😁

I use Greek yogurt in smoothies as well and it’s not normal tart. I would say you are using a bit to much.

@Kyle Ratzloff May I ask what kind of green yoghurt you used? (Preferably a photo) because *true* greek yoghurt is naturally thick and tart, while “greek-style” yoghurt is more runny and less tart. I’ll attach a photo of my go-to yoghurt.

Agree with everyone else on here that you are probably using too much. I like the Fage 5% milkfat (blue container), and find it to be a little less "tart" than other true Greek yogurts. You can also add a bit of honey, or a banana to combat the tartness. It could also be coming from the fruit you are using if it isn't quite ripe (common in frozen fruit) and just magnifying that tart-ness!

I was using true greek yogurt... the sugar free kind, I think 🤔

Oh, okay! I’d recommend “greek style” if it’s too sour for you. Or, alternatively, you could use less yoghurt and more milk!
