Shelf life of frozen chicken?

For how long can you freeze chicken? I stored some chicken meat almost 6 months ago and I am not sure is it safe to use it.

Someone told me that fresh farm bought chicken lasted 6 months in a freezer. I bought one put it in the freezer and two days later when l went to the freezer it was dead. Sorry couldnt resist.

Depends of what is the state of your chicken meat? Is it whole, in parts, ground? If it's not ground you're safe, but it's also important how you stored it, did your freezer lost power etc. When I thaw meat I always smell it and check how it looks like, if I'm not happy I don't mess around with it 😬

if it's frozen it will not spoil, but it will get freezer burn.
