I have had mine a year, but it has been abused and gotten wet several times, 0 issues.

My first one lasted just 14 months, and it wasn't abused or overused. It stopped heating up without warning. The one I have now I've had for some 9 months. Again, not overused. I've heard similar stories of poor luck, but I've also heard great stories of endurance. So, I suppose only time and personal experience will tell. For the record, the first one I had was a Duo, and the one I've got now is a Viva.
