What if I don't have a bread maker?

Do you know the rise and knead steps without a bread maker ? Mine is currently broken! Please and thank you!

It depends on what you’re doing. Usually the instructions are to leave something to rise until doubled- this typically takes about an hour but it’s temperature (both room and of ingredients when mixing)/altitude/humidity dependent. So it may take more than an hour. You should be mixing until the dough is smooth. If it’s a more stiff dough and you’re mixing by hand you may find that it’s easier to mix until ifs hard to, then come back in a half hour and mix until smooth and then let rise until doubled. And then if you’re making loaves there’s shaping. There’s a reason why people have bread makers and it’s because making bread is a skill- bread makers take a lot of variables away.
