Experiment with different cuisines which rely on cheese less, try dal, rajma, aloo gobi, ...

I choose vegan cheese shreds as an alternative, though rarely due to the pricing.

After 3 or more weeks of going cold turkey no dairy (no, don't eat turkey), try a slice of cheese. You most probably won't want to eat cheese ever again. If you do, get the vegan shreds. I hear that Aldi has the best price....

Be vigilant it does get easier with time. You can try the vegan cheeses but keep in mind they’re usually pretty fatty and very heavily processed. There’s some healthy alternatives and over time your pallet will adjust as well. I’ll post a recipe that I’ve created that’s a combination of a few recipes that is very versatile and actually healthy with almost no oil. I promise you’ll be very surprised at just how cheesy this sauce is and the many different ways it can be used. Plus it’s incredibly easy to make. Good luck

I just don't eat it 🤷‍♀️ what do you mean it's on everything? Do you only eat out, never cook?

Try nutritional yeast, it gives you a similar cheesy flavor

Look up vegan or whole food plant based recipes to avoid cheese. If craving the cheese, there are plenty of good vegan cheeses out there. Violife makes great cream cheese. Trader Joe's almond mozzarella is a decent alternative. Their feta is amazing, you can't tell it's vegan. Chao cheese slices are delicious. Just keep in mind, these are all considered vegan junk food. If you went vegan for your health, avoid or use sparingly.

Vegan cheeses can be pricey but they are worth it. Aldi cheese is the best price but it doesn't melt as well. I recently found trader joe's, baker's and hy-vee have really good vegan cheese sections. My partner can't have dairy and we've found alot of almond milk options (shreds, cream cheese, slices etc) good luck 😊

I spent a lot of time and unfortunately money trying to find decent vegan alternatives after developing a milk protein allergy. I feel your pain, and the alternatives will never be the same as the real thing, but some do come close. The best brand I found for cheese is "Follow Your Heart". They also make good vegan salad dressings and mayo. For a good cream cheese (or sour cream) replacement I like "Tofutti". Other things that make great dairy replacements in recipes, nutritional yeast, coconut cream, and tofu (firmness depends on what you are trying to replace).

Soaked cashews make a really great creamy alternative for both savory and sweet replacements. Nutritional yeast is your friend. :)

For "cheese lovers" which I once was, let me make it way easier on you than my journey. You'll find a few vegan cheeses and cream cheeses you like in a pinch, but, here's the biggie...if you go vegan, get the typical Mac and cheese, stuffed shells, pizza way out of your mind. It's gone. Find flavorful new recipes that use sauces. Pineapple tofu stir fry, coconut curries, Peanut ginger sauce over tempeh. Go for vibrant, punchy flavors, interesting veggies and nuts that you have never used. A bit of effort to build your pantry but once you do, you won't miss the cheese. Hope that helps!
