Also one more thing... if you need purchasing advice... splurge for one with the digital timer and more heat/time selections. My GE one is digital and once the time is up, it automatically switches to the 'Warm' setting from 'Low' or 'High'. I make lasagna, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, spaghetti and many other dishes that are traditionally oven/stove dishes with no babysitting - and even desserts!!

Emma - I personally don't have a Crockpot anymore. I had one and my crock (which is stoneware) cracked with food in it in the base one time (while cooking) - ruining my whole dish. I had always inspected it prior to make sure there were no cracks etc but whatevs. I used it faithfully for several years and I did love it but is heavy (and then include the weight of the food). Anyhow - I ended up buying a GE with a coated metal insert. I love it so much more - very lightweight, food-safe, easier to clean and obviously won't crack or break. I am sometimes cooking for crowds and/or making multiple items in the slow cooker or storing leftovers in the slow cooker so I purchased a second one but couldn't find another of the same. Ended up getting a Hamilton Beach (I think) slow cooker with a stoneware insert just because it was cheap... it works just as good as the Crockpot brand but is cheaper BUT it's never my primary slow cooker choice - I ALWAYS go for the GE with metal insert first! Hope that helps!

I also find the 'delay ' setting on mine really useful to set the timing more accurately to when we want to eat.

Mine doesn't have a delay setting! 😕 I guess when I need to replace mine I will have to look for that feature - very handy!
