Hi guys, what is the most unusual fruit you have used in your baking experiments?

I was just looking at a watermelon I bought and wondering could it be used in pies or cobblers

I think you would not be able to use a watermelon in cobblers and pies, its water content is too high and would ruin the consistency of any baked dessert you would try to make - instead use fruits with a lower amount of water content. I, personally, dont use any unusual fruits in my desserts, but would love to hear if anybody does?

Kumquats, had way too much from a neighbor and tried making bread. wasn't great but wasn't bad. Very tart orange flavor.

Thanks Alex, that makes sense. The only recipe I saw with watermelon is for bread but you need to cook the watermelon first
