Diabetic-friendly food that I could serve to my friend?

A friend of mine has been diagnosed with diabetes last month. Most of the time we spend together involves some tasty meals and snacks and I would really love to stay that way. Any recommendations what we could eat together that is tasty and diabetes friendly at the same time?

I am so sorry to hear that. You can enjoy a lot of different foods. You can find bunch of no sugar added sweets and drinks, wholemeal pasta dishes, cheeses, etc... You can also choose low carb or keto suitable dishes since they usually have low glycemic index.

Cauliflower bites, edamame noodles are delicious and good protein content and less carbs, soups, brown rice dishes, overnight oats, spaghetti squash pasta, zucchini or beet noodles, psyllium husk in baked goods adds extra fibre, almond flour is a good substitute

My husband was diagnosed with diabetes about 4 years ago. He is Italian and loves pasta and potatoes and they can’t have either. There is this carb-friendly pasta called “Dreamfields”. This pasta tastes like regular pasta. Wheat and vegetable-based pasta is okay, but the Dreamfields pasta is very good. I also recommend lots of healthy veggies to attempt to fill the void of potatoes. I often use zucchini, green beans, asparagus, spinach, and more. I hope this helps. Good luck!

I forgot to add that lean protein like fish, chicken, beef, and even pork are great. I grill food often- both meat and veggies come out really well on the Ninja Foodie.

Thanks for the tips, I really want to help my friend and be there. So I can make pancakes but with almond flour?
