Are instant and slow cookers the same?

No. Although some instant pots are now making that an option. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08PQ2KWHS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_dl_HKJQH56Z8HXZEECPWRTZ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

They’re actually opposite cooking methods. Instant Pot is a pressure cooker, so most meals are far faster to cook ( only time consuming is time to pressurize before cooking and release pressure afterwards. Both, however are “dump & cook”. Hth

Slow cookers and Instant Pots are both ways to cut down on time you spend cooking, by dumping everything in a pot on a timer, but they accomplish that quite differently. A slow cooker is a crockpot--an electric pot with a timer that lets you put food in hours ahead of time and leave it to cook to be ready at the appropriate time. An Instant Pot is a brand of pressure cooker; pressure cookers let you cook meals much more quickly than in a standard pot, so, for instance, you can make a stew in half an hour.

Instant pots are all-in-one- you can use them as a saute pan, slow cooker/crock pot, rice cooker, and pressure cooker. I bought mine when my rice cooker and crock pot both died around the same time and use it almost daily!
