I am the world’s slowest chopper. Any tips?

It took me an ungodly amount of time to peel, slice and dice a cup and half of an onion. Like 45 to 60 minutes. I hate it. I love soup. I love cooking soup. I hate all the freaking chopping that is needed. Any tips on speeding it up or making it more enjoyable?

There are many knife skills that might help you speed up, but I tend to cop out when I have a lot to do. You can get a "vegetable chopper" from Amazon for about $20. It's essentially a mandolin with many blade types that fits over a large container that holds the cut veggies. I'm sure there are lots of reasons why it's an inferior solution, but having small hands and poor knife skills, I can't do better.

This is very slow. You probably need 2 things. You're knife to be sharper and better technique, assuming you are using a properly sized knife. If you don't have a decent "chef" knife you need it. If you do get a sharpener. Even a cheap hand held one will work. Then work on your technique. Here's a decent vieo giving you an idea of one good technique for dicing onion. https://youtu.be/dCGS067s0zo

100% food processor, if you get a half decent one with a few attachments, you can put amazing stews and hotpots together in a fraction of the time, plus grating, fine slicing

Is your dislike slowing you down? Is it distractions like television or smartphone the culprit? Are you neurodivergent, like one of my children? All of these things can contribute. It may be strength issues, lack of better tools or distractions.

At your supermarket they generally sell onions, carrots already chopped.
