Is it ok to put frozen meat in the slow cooker or should I defrost it first?

Actually, based on my experience, putting frozen meat in the slow cooker (or pressure cooker!) turns out perfectly fine.

usually ud defrost it, but its a slow cooker.. your meat will not be undercooked after 9 hours even on low heat

It's fine to put frozen in. You don't get some cooked and some undercooked as someone else suggested as you said cook for 5 or 6 hours which cooks it thoroughly.

I put frozen chicken breasts in my slow cooker whenever I need shredded chicken. I’ve been doing so for many years without any issues.

I’ve put frozen chicken in the crock pot for years. I learned this from the recipe book that came with the crockpot decades ago. Their recommendation then of adding a cup of liquid is one I still folllow

always defrost, because cooking frozen meat means the outside will cook faster than the inside resulting in a mix of both undercooked and overcooked meat, as well as it is dangerous to even mess around
