I found I did not actually crave the carbs themselves as much as I craved what was familiar, which was high in carbs. Sounds like I am splitting hairs to find a difference in identical meanings, I know, but I will explain. I began substituting things such as the Quest Protien Chips instead of Doritos, Sam's have these Nature's Garden snack mixes the nuts and seeds and some include dried fruit used that instead of other snack options and I have replaced ice cream with either a cup or 2 of Frozen fruit or the Outshine brand of Popsicles, they are made from crushed fruit instead of water and corn syrup. By changing what was familiar I caused my cravings to also change. Lastly I had to look at calorie count from my old way of eating which sometimes had 7,000 calorie days. My schedule is very full and for the sake of convenience I did alot of fast food. So I switched to Diet To Go Meal service so my meals are chef made and Microwave ready,, delivered to my home each week in a Styrofoam cooler. I also use the Lose It app to track calories. That put me on a Calorie budget of 2,180 calories a day and with the changes in snacking options and reasonable meals I am any where from 20 to 500 calories UNDER budget every day. I still have a long way to go but on Thanksgiving 2020 I was 382 Lbs now its September 2021 and I am 311 Lbs with almost no exercise because it is a pain to fit that into an already crammed calendar. There is a 90 second Keto bread recipe here in Whisk that makes for a decent bread substitute. Using just the recipe in my opinion is a little bland in flavor so I add a half tsp of seasoning salt or Old Thompsons Nashville Hot Seasoning if I want bread that is a tinge spicy. The key is not to just remove but remove and replace.
