How to start eating gluten-free?

I need to start avoiding gluten and it is a big change for me. I need some advice on how to switch to eat gluten-free more easily. Any tips?

Stick to natural foods and avoid processed gf foods. You can create so many dishes with meats, fruits, vegetables, and gf grains that I often don't miss gluten. Get a good 1 to 1 gf flour and keep it on hand for substitution. If you live with others, be sure to have a separate space and cookware as cross contamination is just as bad as eating it directly. You can get the GF scanner app to help as you learn!

I agree with @m.mcguire first try to stick to unprocessed food. Start reading food labels to learn which of your favorite food contain gluten. Find gluten-free flour substitutes to have them at all times. Be open-minded and get creative. There are so many delicious gluten-free recipes. It seems hard at the beginning but you can do it!

Don't give up when making a gluten free substitute for the first time. It takes practice. The easiest and hardest for me was pancakes. It was tough getting the right texture. I sub sparkling water for any water added to aerate and make dough slightly more fluffy.

I recently found out I am also allergic to gluten. Explains so much. I also had been struggling with what to eat now and cut out all the gluten out of my diet but was still struggling with gut issues. That was until I read this website on how to heal from celiac https://www.goodforyouglutenfree.com/healed-gut-celiac-diagnosis/. Apparently you need to heal your gut to be able to feel better. My favorite juice was the beet juice and I hate beets but the blackberries and apples cover the beet dirt flavor. I throw in blueberries also to get some more antioxidants into my system. Do the juice for a week and you'll feel better. http://www.thecultureist.com/2013/06/24/10-healthy-juicing-recipes-for-detox-cleanse/. Just remember not to eat hour before or after juicing.

I would start with getting a gluten- free cookbook. That way you can choose a recipe that interests you and sounds good to you. It will help make the start of your journey MUCH smoother.
