my way is brioche, set out over night to dry. you can also dry it out in the oven.

My preferred is San Francisco Sourdough, but if I don't have that available, my go-to is Vietnamese French Bread or King's Hawaiian.

Try King's Hawiian sliced Bread Loaf. I have had great results by slightly toasting the bread before dipping it in your egg mixture. By far though you can't go wrong making it from Brioche Bread!
