Cake in Fridge

Is cake really best kept in the fridge? If so, how long can I keep the cake in the fridge?

I would say, from experience, that cake is fine in the fridge for up to 4-5 days. As long as it's wrapped up properly. Frozen cake is also super easy, I froze a portion of my birthday cake last year and ate it a month later. Was still moist!

my roommate also froze a birthday cake. He took it out one year later and it was still good. Crazy huh

Oh and apparently newly weds used to freeze a slice of their wedding cake and eat it on their 1 year anniversary! Sounded like a pretty old and risky tradition to be until I saw the roommate test it out.
