I vote for dumplings - or any type of filling that's wrapped in a "dough" that is steamed, boiled, baked or fried! I feel like that combination is pretty universal (if by other names) - There's gnocchi or ravioli, empanadas, spring rolls, lumpia, samosa, there's potato dumplings (german!), pierogis, and of course all the dim sum dumplings! Who doesn't love bite sized, tasty wrapped food?!
