Instructions

Step 1
Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, carrot, and celery. Cook for approximately 5 minutes until the vegetables soften and the onion becomes translucent.
Step 2
Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Push the vegetables to the side of the pan and add the lean ground beef. Cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until browned and cooked through.
Step 3
Add tomato paste and cook for 1 minute while stirring everything around. Stir in the diced tomatoes, and beef broth.
Step 4
Add the dried oregano, and season with salt and pepper. Give it a good stir, then reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for at least 30 minutes.
Step 5
While the sauce is simmering, cook the spaghetti according to the instructions on the package.
Step 6
To serve, place a portion of cooked spaghetti on each plate. Ladle the bolognese sauce over the spaghetti.
