For the cake:
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 160ยฐC

Line and spray two cake tins (20cm in diameter)

Sift the cake flour, corn flour, baking powder and salt

Mix the egg yolks and sugar until creamy

Mix in the ice water
Step 6
Fold in the dry ingredients

Beat the egg whites until stiff

Fold the egg whites into the batter

Decant into cake tins

Bake for +/- 25 - 30 minutes in the center of the oven

Remove and let cool
For the icing:

Mix the custard powder into 100ml of the milk and add the pinch of salt

Mix this mixture into the remaining of 400ml milk

Microwave for 1,5 minutes and stir

Continue to microwave in intervals of 30 seconds until thick

Let this mixture cool

Beat the butter and the castor sugar until light and airy

Add the vanilla
Step 19
Add the cold custard
Finishing the cake:

Decorate the cake with icing
