Instructions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180C or Gas Mark 4.
Step 2
Cut a rectangle of baking paper and fit it to all sides of the baking tin. Grease the tin and line it with the baking paper.
Step 3
Measure and pour the into a large mixing bowl. Mix together either by hand or with a hand-held electric mixer until the batter is evenly blended.
Step 4
Spoon the brownie batter into the prepared tin and use a plastic spatula to evenly spread the mixture to the corners of the tin. Smooth out the top of the batter with the back of the spatula.
Step 5
Place in the oven and bake for roughly 40 to 45 minutes until the brownies have a crusty top.
Step 6
Insert a toothpick into the centre to test if the brownies are fully cooked. If the toothpick comes out clean and dry then take the brownies out of the oven. If the toothpick comes out wet with batter, leave the brownies in the oven for longer.
Step 7
Check on the brownies 10 minutes before they are meant to come out of the oven and cover them with foil if the brownies are browning too much.
Step 8
Once ready. Take the brownies out of the oven and leave to cool in the tin for a few minutes.
Step 9
Then, cut the brownies into 24 squares and your delicious gooey brownies are ready to serve.
