Instructions
Step 1
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar and water. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved, forming a simple syrup.

Combine the lemon zest with the prepared simple syrup in a large jar or bowl. Allow the mixture to cool at room temperature for about 15 minutes.

Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice to the simple syrup mixture and stir well.
