Instructions
Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 200°C/gas 5. Dust a baking tray with flour.
Step 2
2.Sift flour, salt and caster sugar into a mixing bowl and add the chopped butter

3.Rub butter into the flour mix using your fingertips until a fine breadcrumb consistency.
Step 4
4. Beat egg and buttermilk with a fork.
Step 5
5. Make a well in the middle of the flour mixture, pour in egg mixture
Step 6
with a round bladed knife mix into a rough dough.

6.If you need a little extra buttermilk, add at this stage.
Step 8
7.Gently add berries, but try not to over handle them.
Step 9
8.Turn out onto floured surface and gently pat down to an inch thickness

9.Using a scone cutter, cut scones out and place on floured baking tray

10.Lightly brush the top of the scones with some buttermilk.

11. Bake for 12-14 Minutes or until a good golden brown (air fryer temp 190°-10mins)

12.Cool on a wire rack until ready to serve

13.Serve with butter, jam and cream.
