Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 180 C
Step 2
Pour 1/2 cup evaporated milk over the bread, and put aside
Step 3
Add oil to pan, and start cooking the onion
Step 4
Add mince to onion and cook until the mince is browned
Step 5
Add curry, turmeric, stock cubes and the vinegar to the mince, combine well and continue to cook
Step 6
Mash up the softened bread and stir into the mince mixture
Step 7
Add the chutney, sultanas and nuts and stir in well while still cooking
Step 8
Transfer the mince mixture to oven-proof dish, and spear the bay leaves into the surface
Step 9
Add water to remaining evaporated milk to make 1 1/2 cups, and beat in the egg
Step 10
Pour this egg & milk custard mixture over mince in the oven dish
Step 11
Bake in oven for 80 minutes, or until the custard has set, and is lightly browned.
Step 12
Serve with rice
