Step 1
In a heavy 3-qt sausepan combine the butter, brown sugar, milk, corn syrup, and water. bring to a boil over medium heat. cook and stir until candy thermometer reads 230 (or thread stage) about 8 to 10 minutes. remove from heat; stir in vanilla
Step 2
Transfer to fondue pot or a 1-1/2 qt slow cooker. Keep warm over low heat.
Step 3
Serve with apple slices or other fruit of choice.
