Instructions

Step 1
Rinse the millet grain thoroughly under running water until the water runs clear.
Step 2
Place the millet in a pot, pour in boiling water, mix, drain and rinse again. This will help to get rid of any bitterness left in the grain.
Step 3
Put millet in a thick bottomed sauce pan or a small pot, pour 2 cups of hot water in.
Step 4
Bring to boil, decrease the heat to medium low, and keep simmering uncovered until almost all the water gets absorbed or evaporates.
Step 5
Pour in 2 cups of milk, add salt and sugar. You can cover the pot at this point and keep it simmering stirring from time time until all the liquid is absorbed and the grain becomes soft and fluffy.
Step 6
Remove from heat, cover and let rest for 10 minutes.
Step 7
Top with a table spoon of butter and serve hot, with your favorite toppings or simply as is.
