Instructions
Step 1
Boil the tin in 2-3 cm of water on very low heat for 2 hours, lid on. Check the water level regularly. Do this well in advance, I cook three at a time they keep for months
Step 2
combine butter flour and sugar until fine breadcrumb consistency. (if you don't have self-raising flour, use plain flour and add 2 tsp of baking powder and some salt). Press this mixture into an ovenproof square or rectangular dish. Bake 20 min 175C until the edges are just golden.
Step 3
allow the biscuit base to cool
Step 4
open the tin of condensed milk, it should look like toffee. Spread it over the biscuit base
Step 5
Melt chocolate on a bain marie or in the micro. Pour it over the caramel in a thin layer and spread into the corners. Place in fridge for several hours before carefully cutting into squares.
