Mama’s Lasagna

This is the most delicious, most filling lasagna I’ve ever made. It’s a combination of three recipes that I’ve used over time. One day I just thought I would combine some of the different elements… VOILA! Perfection!🤌🏻
Nowadays, this is the only lasagna recipe I use!

Ingredients
8 servings
The “Sauce”…GRAVY🤌🏻
6 oztomato paste
24 ozMarinara Sauce
or, Traditional Homemade Sauce
1 headgarlic
minced
1 TablespoonRed Chili Flakes
OPTIONAL
1 teaspoonfresh parsley
put aside until needed
The Ricotta Mixture
15 ozRicotta Cheese
whole milk if possible
2eggs
whole, large
1 packetItalian Dressing & Recipe Mix
½ cupgrated parmigiana cheese
The BEEF

Instructions
The Noodle Cookin’
Step 1
Cook half of the box of lasagna noodles just shy of Al dente (cooking approx. 2-3mins less of Al dente).
For the “Sauce”…GRAVY🤌🏻
Step 2
Mix well and continue to stir; bringing it to a slow rolling boil for 2 mins. Turn down heat to simmer. Add a teaspoon of fresh parsley and put a lid on it.
For the Ricotta Mixture
Step 3
Combine all ingredients until mixed thoroughly and set aside.
For the BEEF
Step 4
Combine all ingredients until cooked and mixed thoroughly. Turn off heat and set aside.
The LAYERING
Step 5
• spread a thin layer of sauce on bottom of pan (I usually use a 9x13).
• layer 3-4 lasagna noodles on bottom • spread beef down (enough to cover the noodles).
• layer another 3-4 lasagna noodles down • spread all of the Ricotta Cheese mixture down to cover noodles • layer the last of the lasagna noodles (do not overlap them)
• spread the rest of the beef on the top of the noodles (you may not have enough to thoroughly cover the noodles, and that’s ok).
• add the sauce on top of the beef (spread evenly).
• add 2 cups of shredded Mozzarella and 1 cup grated Parmesan Cheese to top it off

Step 6
Make sure you bake the Lasagna with a cover of aluminum foil on top for the first 30 mins. Then remove the foil and bake for another 10-15 mins until cheese on top is a golden brown .
TOTAL BAKE TIME: 50 mins @ 350 degrees
