Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Step 2
In a large pot of salted boiling water, blanch green beans for 8 minutes (or just before they are al dente). Drain and transfer to a 9x13 baking dish.
Step 3
Melt 4 tbs of butter in a large pan on high heat. Add onions and cook until soft/translucent. Add mushrooms and saute with garlic.
Step 4
Transfer the vegetables to the casserole dish with the green beans. Wipe pan clean.
Step 5
start boiling noodles and cook cubed chicken while making the sauce.
Step 6
Melt the remaining 4 tbs of butter, add flour. Stir to combine and cook until golden brown.
Step 7
Add milk, heavy cream, salt, pepper, chicken broth, and parmesan cheese and stir. Reduce heat to medium/low and cook until sauce is thickened (about 10 minutes).
Step 8
Add noodles, chicken, and sauce to the casserole dish and toss until everything is well coated. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes, then remove foil and bake for another 20 minutes. top casserole with French fried onions and bake another 10 minutes.
