Simple Spicy Pasta
6 steps
Cook:15min
This is just a super simple spicy pasta recipe I threw together for me and my husband one day and it's become one of our go-to, easy-to-make, stressless meals that also happens to reheat well (as long as you add a bit of butter to keep the pasta from being too dried out).

Ingredients
6 servings
1 boxrotini pasta
is a good brand for both gluten or gluten-free
1 bottlepasta sauce
I like Prego herb & garlic flavor
1 lbhot sausage
hot italian or mild works
parmesan
Spices and herbs
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare medium sized skillet on medium-medium high heat. Start water in a pot according to instructions on the box of pasta.
Step 2
In your heated skillet, break apart your sausage with a spatula as big or small as you like (I like to make mine into quarter sized cubes). Stir occassionally to avoid burning.
Step 3
As your pot of water comes to a boil, follow cooking instructions on the box of pasta. (At this point, you'll be putting the pasta in the boiling water for about 7-8 minutes depending on if you use rotini or penne or another pasta).
Step 4
Add your spices and herbs while the sausage cooks. I recommend waiting to add any crushed red pepper flakes until the meat is mostly browned.
Step 5
After straining your pasta according to the box, put your pasta back in the same pot you boiled it in. Add pasta sauce and your cooked sausage to pasta and mix well.
Serving
Step 6
After portioning your pasta into a bowl, sprinkle parmesan to your liking and garnish with oregano. Enjoy!
