Pomegranate Honey Shandy

A shandy is a beer-based cocktail that is surprisingly tasty! A British shandy is typically a lighter beer mixed with a lemon-lime drink. The idea of a shandy was first created by Franz Kugler. He was a bartender in Munich. After a bicycle race in 1922, his tavern was overrun with thirsty cyclists, so he cut his beer with lemonade and soda so they didn’t run out. Our version is a little different. We made our honey shandy with pomegranate juice for a rich sweet-tart flavor, but feel free to switch it up! It’s just fruity and sweet enough, so it fits in well with any item on your holiday menu. A lighter beer works best in this recipe, otherwise, the flavor can be too heavy and bitter and won’t blend well with the juice.
