The health score is for glycemic index. High sugar and carbs = high (red) numbers. The green is what keeps you fuller longer. Doesn't spike your glucose. Hope this helps.

Would you mind giving examples? For example natural fats and sodium are actually good and important. The kickers are making sure 8oz of 0 Cal liquid an hour. For sure no c. arbo

I wanted to follow up. Fruit an Nuts are a good thing in moderation. Much better than sugar snacks. Keeping in mind the Glycimic conversion rate, grapes and bananas are great for energy, though if not used the insulin kicks in and the sugars (carbohydrates) turn into triglycerides and stored as body fats. Not much good there unless you burn through the equivalent of 30 miles. Keto concept is eliminate Carbs, use protein to fuel your body thereby forcing you body to use the stored fats for energy. As a long distance runner using stored body fats happen about mile 20. Then horrible insulin kick as the body fat is covered back into fuel. "The wall" is then handled by endomophines. None of that is good in my experience. So I learned that cutting out carbohydrates is the smart thing. That includes fruit and ice cream, which is insanely difficult to manage to a concept of a "treat". Oddly, dark chocolate is good (milk chocolate is not such so). Oh, fruit and nuts or popcorn only diets are not good. Just ask Steve Jobs or my daughter, they are examples of extreme diets.

Straight from Gemini… Samsung Food calculates a Health Score for recipes, ranging from 1 to 10, to indicate their nutritional value. A higher score signifies a healthier recipe, based on factors like nutrient density and alignment with USDA recommendations. The score is derived from the nutritional content of individual ingredients and their impact on the overall recipe. Here's a more detailed explanation: Nutrient Density: Samsung Food analyzes the macronutrients (proteins, carbohydrates, fats) and micronutrients (vitamins, minerals) in each ingredient. Ingredient Impact: The app assesses how each ingredient contributes to the overall health score of the recipe. Normalization: It normalizes the nutrition data of ingredients based on their quantity per 100g. Recipe Health Score: The individual ingredient scores are combined to determine the overall health score for the recipe.

I work in dance. There’s a distinction between healthy carbs and unhealthy carbs, the former’s essential for a balanced diet.

The health score is a good starting point for judging the relative benefits of a recipe, although it is just a starting point. I like to view the bar graph by clicking on the health score tab and then clicking on the green (or red) bar in the first box. This shows you the percent of daily value for the most significant positive and negative elements. The red color just reflects a lower health score. I have gotten so I can predict if the health score is lower because of factors I can change like using low sodium products if the sodium is high, or if it has controversial issues. Examples of the latter would be high chloresteral for eggs or shrimp, which are currently accepted to not cause health issues for most people, or the saturated fat in coconut milk with is mostly medium chain and therefore shown to actually help with some of the negative effects of saturated fat. But many people may have other factors to consider for their tastes and dietary requirements.

I also wanted to add that if you drink a lot of water like me, you want high sodium foods. Your sodium gets depleted when you sweat, too. Healthy sodium levels are good! You can tell if your sodium is low if you get muscle cramps and/or crave salty foods.
