Cook rice?

This recipe calls for uncooked rice, but it specifies "instant rice" which I think means something like Uncle Ben's Minute Rice. You definitely wouldn't want to cook that, but it's also (in my opinion) not very satisfactory rice. If you use other rice, you probably need to at least partially cook it, but that will probably also affect the amount of liquid you add to the recipe.
