What appliances make cooking easier?

Stu Renshaw
I'm a big fan of my Soup Maker! Throw a load of random ingredients in (especially good to use up stuff that's been hanging around in the fridge), add some stock, leave it for a few hours and a tasty soup appears. Magic!

For me its all about those one pot/pan appliances. So stuff like a slow cooker or instant pot, or even just dishes that only use the one pan

This might sound silly obvious, but: microwave! Being able to quickly defrost things (e.g. meats, frozen sauces, etc) or partially cook things (e.g. potatoes) helps keep cook times under 30 minutes! Some of my other go-to appliances are slow cooker (in the fall and winter months we use it at least once or twice per week). Being able to throw together a recipe into the slow cooker before work and coming home to delicious smells of dinner is a nice easy way to cook! I also use my Magic Bullet blender... good for making smoothies, sauces, etc.

I absolutely love my pressure cooker instant pot. It makes cooking anything easier and cuts the time in half or less. Soups, roasts, whole chickens. it's amazing. As well as my egg cooker. cooks up to 7 eggs, soft boiled to hard boiled, you can cook scrambled in it with the little bowl it comes with. I swear by them.

Sous Vide! I can't imagine preparing chicken breast in any other way. Simple to use and don't make a lot of mess and dirty dishes in kitchen.

I use a mini pie maker for empanadas! They come out perfectly uniform and are the cutest.

Soup maker sounds awesome! For me it food processor. At first I was disappointed and thought that I would use it on rare occasions but then I discovered all the cool things that I can used it for. Now I mince meat on my own.

I love, love, love my countertop convection oven. I use my regular oven as storage now. My convection oven cooks faster, better, and also has a rotisserie option. I never use it on regular rather than convection. Uses less electricity too and doesn't heat up my house in the summer. I live alone and for one or two people, it's the best. I also have an Aroma 3 in 1 Grillet. Steam, Grill, or Simmer. Basically, it took the place of my George Foreman Grill, my stovetop, and my small pans. Only time I have to use the stovetop is if I need a large pot or skillet. Since I live alone, that's really rare. I also have a microwave and a mini Instant Pot, a mini waffle maker, and a coffeemaker which I use as a tea-maker as I don't drink coffee. Between all these things, I never use the range. I live in a very small apartment with a tiny (seriously itty bitty) kitchen and making use of these things has been a lifesaver.
