Great question! The best recipes for gut health are high in fibre. Fibre is found in the skin of fruits, vegetables, legumes, grains, nuts and seeds. Fibre will feed the beneficial gut bacteria in your gut and get them to multiply. Yay! However, if your gut lining is irritated or sensitive, then too much fibre can cause inflammation. In that case, the first step would be to heal your gut lining, then learn which foods your body thrives on and which foods harm it and finally, eat a variety of fibre-rich foods.

To make it simple, here are some examples of fibre-rich breakfasts that are good for gut health: • 2 multi-seed sourdough bread slices with 1/2 an avocado and 2 free-range eggs • 2 'sweet potato toasts' (roasted slices of sweet potato), 1/2 avocado and 2 free-range eggs (or another protein) • Oat pancakes made with 1 cup of rolled oats blitzed into flour, 1 mashed banana, 1 egg, 4 Tbsp almond milk, sea salt and vanilla extract, cooked with olive oil or grass-fed butter
