I was always intrigued by making my own pasta dough but not sure is it worth spending time on that instead of buying pasta in supermarket. Any experiences here?

I love making my own pasta dough - once you make it, you cant go back to store-bought pasta!😂In all seriousness, I think making pasta dough at home is a bit of a weekend project, especially if its your first time making it -but you can always make a big batch and freeze it, and then use it anytime! Otherwise, on busy work days dry store bought pasta will satisfy your carbohydrates cravings excellently for the week!

pasta dough ingredients depend on pasta shapes and its purpose too :)
but the basic rule is on 100grams of flour you add one egg - and thats it!
also often times recipes ask for 00 flour, which is not available everywhere, so you can substitute it with any type of "soft" flour!
but you can try out this recipe:
You got me excited to try it out, any recipe recommendations? :D

Oh I have SO MANY thoughts on this one. First, short pasta shapes are pretty hard to home make (penne, rigatoni, fusilli) - so I much prefer to buy them (de cecco is my favorite brand). I also think that store bought noodles have a firmer shape, which is better for some dishes - and for weeknights when I want to make something quick like sesame noodles. But fresh egg pasta is great with creamy or tomato saucy sauces!

For almost all pasta, I go store bought. However, I never buy gnocchi. Once you make it from scratch, it is infinitely better. I can never go back. For gnocchi, taking the time is worth it.
