Should I count calories and macros on the Mediterranean diet?

I would like to start this diet and I have researched a bit. I am wondering should I count calories? Is there any macros ratio to be followed?

If you're trying to lose weight I'd say go for around 40% protein and 30% carbs/fats. Works well for me. Though everyone different, always keep that in mind.

I’m using the MyNetDiary app just the free version but it’s brilliant and you can select Mediterranean diet. It works everything out for you and you can see your macros. Hope this helped! 😄

a weight loss doctor that I listen to says forget about the calories the most important thing is the quality of food you're eating. he highly recommends the Mediterranean diet. it is said that the longest living people eat this diet.

I am not necessarily trying to lose weight but can hurt ;) I am more focused on eating healthy. How long are you on this diet Jason? And thanks @Lynsey I will check out the app.
