Oh no! I haven’t made this but sometimes for baked goods I put them in a baking sheet for that type of runoff (I have an apple pie in the oven right now that likes to overflow…) is the cake still too wet inside? Sometimes with these types of cakes I’ve also seen that the apples absorb more of the heat sk it can depend on the size of the apple slices…
