This might be the most delicious thing I've made in a while. I followed the recipe, but I added one step: prior to pouring the sauce into a wok to thicken up, I fried red bell peppers and onions in a few tbsp of oil for a couple minutes. THEN I poured the sauce on top of them, thickened up the sauce, and then folded in the fried chicken. I served it over jasmine rice with steamed broccoli on the side. Incredible!!
This recipe was, however, way longer than the 30 minutes of cooking time they stated (typical!) And even with only frying in shallow oil, it was MESSY AS HELL and I will never do that again. 😤 A million dirty dishes waiting to be cleaned later and half of my whole kitchen needing to be power washed, I am freaking done. I won't make this again until I have an air fryer. Still, the family and I were all freaking out about how good it was.
