I needed to do a better job of crimping the edges, and I didn't roll the dough out right. I'll do better next time. Love this recipe! They are more like hand pies 🤪. Hubby loved them though. I cut the strips the long way (cuts parallel to the long edge of the rectangle), but they need to be cut parallel with the short side. I will do better about rolling them thin enough. 24 hours in the fridge was too long. I'll do it for an hour next time. The dough got dry and unworkable with the long rest.
#2 try: got the dough thinner, but it was cracking while I rolled it out and doesn't look pretty once baked. It was refrigerated 7 hours. Will try much shorter refrigeration next time! I did a better job of crimping. The filling didn't ooze out this time. Not sure what I did wrong on the dough. I think I needed to let it warm up some out of the fridge, and I'll roll it between two pieces of parchment next time.
