I made this on the stove because I didn't pay attention to the first word in the title...crockpot. 🤦♀️I didn't have time to make it in the crockpot by the time I noticed it. I browned the ground beef, then added everything except the rice and cheese to the pot. I let it come to a boil before adding the rice, and I used Jasmine rice because it's what I had. Once it came back to a boil, I reduced the heat to a simmer for 20ish minutes. I had to add an extra 2 cups of water so the rice wouldn't burn and had to stir occasionally. This made the rice a little gluey. It still had really good flavor, but I'll either use minute rice or make it in the crockpot, or both, to see if it turns out better next time.
