Ask ten people to make cottage pie and you’ll get ten different results. And I was no different when making cottage pies in the past. But this recipe is now my go to for great flavour and consistency. I did add half a sliced leek cooked in butter into the mash using the other half sliced in the filling. I scaled down the recipe for 500g of beef mince which makes four servings in our house. I also topped off the mashed potato with grated cheddar before it went into the oven. This dish eats so well alongside braised red cabbage absolutey lovely in my opinion
