this was so easy! I didn't go to the trouble of trying to "paint" the sides of the cast iron pan with the discard, and just made a flat, thin crust. i made a couple of them, let them cool, then froze them: great for an easy dinner on a night when my husband is at class, and I don't feel like making a huge mess for just 2 people.
