Just LOOK at those beautiful light air bubbles, and with a simply salted crispy crust, this focaccia bread recipe is literally DIVINE 🫶🏼 Although I do have just one teeny tiny negative which I’ll come to, this recipe is pretty much perfect in every way - one I’ll definitely be saving in my collections (and also writing down kept safe in a book somewhere for future generations 😂)
I have recently come back from a holiday to Italy and during our stay we sampled a variety of authentic Italian recipes. After having made this recipe all I can say is BELLISSIMO - easy to make and follow and the results are just 😘 #chefskiss
So I made this in the UK and used Tesco Finest 00 flour which had the high protein count as specified in the recipe. I followed the recipe to a T (although I’m sure my folding technique has some way to go for improvement - perfect excuse to make more then…) and I rested it for the full 48 hours. As you can see I kept the topping simple with just Malden sea salt flakes to let the flavours really speak for itself. It was delicious and the wholesome yeasty flavour really came through. My top tip would be to not overdo it with the extra virgin olive oil. So my one negative? It’s just so incredibly photogenic that but the time you’ve finished your photoshoot you’d wished you’d eaten it slightly warm and with that freshly baked out of the oven crispy top which does naturally soften down after taking 100 photos from 20 angles. So simply, bake and enjoy! I’m off to make another batch - I’ll be baking in the Ooni next time and eating it fresh out the furnace 🔥 Ciao!
