I brought a couple of jars of this to a bbq party where there were omnivores, vegetarians, gluten free folks, and religiously ketchup-only-burger eaters. They all loved this pickle as a side to whatever they wee eating. It's perfect for a potluck.
The recipe is forgiving; I was missing a few of the spices and subbed them out for what I did have. The Pickles didn't suffer for that!
I think this would make a perfect base to pickle any kind of vegetable you find in your farm shop.
